Welcome to the land of horses
Learning about horses is anything but boring!
What do you get when Harry Potter meets Alice in Wonderland and travel with Gulliver in the time machine to middle earth and beyond? You get the E-Quest-Rian program!
Take a fantastical journey to the land of horses. It contains the essentials of horsemanship that is perfect for kids in Pony Club, 4H, or for kids who just want to learn about horses! Not only is this program key to discovering the secrets on a journey into the equestrian world, but also it involves interactive mini-adventure levels, that embark the final equestrian adventure story learning about horses using notes, maps, charts, diagrams, drawings and all things horse-related. Learn about them, how to take care of them and how to ride! What equi-tastic secrets will you discover? |

The best part is that it can be done anywhere in the world without having to leave home! It’s perfect for riding clubs and after school programs. Even the parents can have fun learning. A horse is not needed, but is beneficial of course. Children need to be registered in their grade level. They will need the activity book and the corresponding textbook to find the answers. The activity books are organised into theme lessons with hands-on activities.
It is a unique program for pre-school to grade 10. Pre-school, Kindergarten and Grade 1 are designed to be more focused on fun for the child. Once the child enters grade 2, there is a nine year story, and as the child works through each activity book, he will learn all about the International Riding Academy, horses and the fictional world called Rian (pronounced Ree-ann).

Even though we live on Earth, the children will automatically be transported in the activity books to the land of Rian, where horses only exist because of a man who found a rainbow vortex into another world, Equestrian, where horses existed.
On this fantastical journey, books can come to life and strange things happen.
Hopefully, children will have learning about horses and using their imaginations. Coaches and club leaders can use this as an advantage to help design group activities or study sessions. |
Lord Chancellor Spursnomore estate in the Land of Rian, is called the International Riding Academy
Lord Chancellor Spursnomore isn't home, but the butler will greet you and see to your needs every year
The Grand Hall contains many treasured artifacts that were brought back by Lord Chancellor Spursnomore on his many journeys.
|
Children will borrow Lord Chancellor Spursnomore's card until they have their own. That way each child can tour the library at the estate.
Each child will find their card at the appropriate time in their activity book. It is in a little envelope labelled "TOP SECRET", but don't tell anyone! Just be warned, the Librarian is quite strict and a little stressed.
|
You will not stay in the library long before some kind of crisis will happen and you will have to rush over to the Laboratory where you will meet the Professor, see his mysterious machine and have to help him.
|
Each unit in the activity book is based on a new place at the estate and learning something different about horses, such as Parts, Breeds, Colors, Health, Tack and so on.
You meet up with all kinds of people. Sometimes you have to help out. All the while you are looking for the Professor's mysterious tool which he needs to repair his machine, which is hidden within the pages of the activity book. Once the tool is found, the page number will be needed later on for a secret code. |
Throughout the units of the activity book, the children are engaged in puzzles, games, fill in the blanks and short stories which kind of piece together the greater story and also drop hints of the next amazing adventure the Professor wants to go on in his quest to find Lord Chancellor Spursnomore, who is actually lost in time in a strange land far away.
Did I forget to mention that the child found a little horse named Nickers?
He will accompany the child on all journeys. The child will enjoy his company but all wonder how the horse came to be so small, of which they will find out if they can make it to the last story, grade 10. |
So once the child is done the activity book, and writing the quizzes on the DVD, he or she can open the letter from the Butler and discover a plea for help. Returning to the Lab, the child will find out that it is he or she who will have to get into the contraption designed by the Professor and they will have to travel through the rainbow vortex. It will lead them onto a mysterious adventure in Unit 13. The child will always be on the lookout for the Lord Chancellor Spursnomore, catching glimpses, getting notes, and lost messages, but ending up back at the academy doors again, ready to start a new year and a new grade level. It is a nine year story line, where the child will go on all kinds of journeys, learning about all kinds of horses, whether real in history or mythical.
It isn't until the child becomes a teen, or in grades 8, 9 and 10 where the child will learn just what happened to Lord Chancellor Spursnomore, how the academy came to be and the importance of learning about horses. However, grade 10 has a twist and it is up the child to save the future of the academy and go on one of the most incredible journeys yet. The problem is where is the Lord Chancellor Spursnomore?

what to do?
Once a student has the activity book and reference book, he/she can it, the quiz, and mark it with the answers on the website. Also, each child can keep track of how many horse related books were read that year and how many hours were spent with horses, including pony camp! The certificate is in the back of the activity book.
But that's not all. This is just the beginning for a coach, instructor, leader to set up a little study session with the children. They can also be involved with the Young Rider program. There is a report card filled with things to do for each level, of which the leader/coach can mark off and send in word that it has been completed. |
Once the child is done the checklist, he or she can perform a video test which is to be sent in to the office as well. It will be graded and commented on.
A certificate will be sent to the child. It's a way of motivating the children, because each child will also be eligible for danish ribbons based on scores. I have to go... the Librarian is calling me. |
wait! What about pony camp
It's been a very long road to finishing this program.
~ And my characters fell silent, slumping their shoulders, heads nodding down, holding their hands in the air as they dragged themselves home... "We're too tired to finish the story today," they complained, "We've done this and that, twice just today. We're here, we're there, we're everywhere. We're having the hardest time keeping up with the brain storming plot."
But somewhere in a land far away, a little child opened a book and turned the first page. ~
