Why Should I Wear a Helmet?

As a young person under the age of 18 years, you must wear a helmet. That is written in the bylaws of riding. But what about when you are an adult? Do you still have to wear a helmet? Why do you want to?
It's not part of the ensemble. I don't want to look like an English rider.
While that may be true, it is not the way it should be.
Many are afraid to look like the dork in the helmet, but this is old school thinking. The truth is that horse's are fast and the sport can be dangerous. You are supposed to wear a helmet while roller blading so why not for riding?
There is nothing more nauseating than a hit to the head causing a concussion. Can you imagine your world spinning out of control every time you move let alone go riding? Don't let a knock to the noggin stop you.
No one is asking you to be the knight in shining armor, loaded with metal. We're just saying put the helmet on, just in case.
